Foremothers and Elder Angels

Celebrating Women's History Month

Thankful for all these women gave to me. They continue to influence and inspire me.

I revised the cover of Tribe of the Breakaway Beads to include my direct "foremothers": my mom, two grandmas, and four great-grandmothers. I love that I have photos of them all, especially my great grandmothers. I added the names of my eight great-great-grandmothers (the "elder angels").

My great-grandmothers all appear in my stories. Among my GG2s, only Mary Gardiner Barrett gets a moment on center stage. I should probably write up something to remember about each of them.

I started to list my GG3s, but I only know about half of them.
