Week In Review
6/12/10 This busy week felt like the kick-off to summer.
Productive work: Passions
Grand Exits. Next draft -- COMPLETE! The Draft for Comment is currently online, an "unpublicized special" for friends interested in providing a little feedback. While I'm letting the new text percolate, I'm planning illustrations.
Productive Work: Stewardship
Civil War era cartridge collection -- SOLD!
Exploratory Work
Reading. Reality Hunger: A Manifesto
by David Shields (kindle). Finished the book and wrote the author thanking him for "giving me permission" to experiment with my "Grand Exits" format. Started reading "Infinite Jest" by David Foster Wallace.
Infrastructure work
Procrastinating getting back to work at Ebay by cleaning out and slightly reorganizng some files. Bought one of those Brother labelers to help neaten things up. I HATE loosing track of files.
Energizing Not-Work
Jim's son Eric came to visit, with 13 y.o. grandson Mark. Fun to show Mark our place. He was most intrigued by the gun collection (boys!) and by my iPad. We toured around to visit some of Eric's childhood haunts and to see the river and lake.
Went to calling hours for a friend's dad... not an "energizing" occasion, but a chance to drive to Auburn with Maria and Jim... and to give brief comfort to a friend.
